From Totò to Pino Daniele – Neapolitan songs
The Neapolitan song, now irreverent, now sentimental, will be the protagonist of the first appointment curated by Animando for the review Summer music between towers and ramparts. Tomorrow at 9.15 pm will be performed the recital Naples in the heart, in a place recently reopened to the public after decades of abandonment: the cloister of Santa Caterina, part of the Real Collegio. Gothic and very beautiful frescoes, treartists will lead the public through the notes of the Neapolitan tradition.
The bariton Giovanni Mazzei, from the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the soprano Michelle Buscemi, rooted with strong international collaborations and the young lucchese pianist and composer Stefano Teani (pictured), who in the summer of 2016 Riccardo Mui chose to attend his Italian opera academy as a repetiteur. The program includes a repertoire that ranges from Eduardo Di Capua to Domenico Modugno, from Andrea Bixio to Antonio De Curtis, the Totò of Malfemena, up to Francesco Paolo Tosti, Lucio Dalla, Pino Daniele. Above all – says Paolo Citti, president of Animando – we will listen to songs that still today know how to tell stories.
