ENIGMA
Metamorphosis for Trombone and Harp
The piece has been written with the aim of using the enigmatic scale (C, Db, E, F#, G#, A#, B) in a “metamorphic” way, trying to hide it inside harmonic and melodic processes (so that both the vertical and the horizontal element go together) in which the material changes along with the scale itself.
The harmonic elements come out from the combination of the ascending scale plus the descending one, producing an amount of chords that will mark the course of the whole piece.
The sections in which it is divided (Prologo – Metamorphosis – Epilogo) have the purpose to present the material, change it and bring it again in the reversed way.
