On Friday January 6th, in the auditorium of San Girolamo in Lucca the 15th concert of the Epiphany took place, scoring a record turnout, with many people that couldn’t join the event because there were too many waiting outside in Via San Girolamo. It has been an incredible success, far beyond anyone’s expectations. This time music by Elgar, Mahler, Puccini, Sibelius, Benedetti A., Catalani, Frega S. And Mascagni has been performed by the Orchestra Sinfonica della Versilia wonderfully conducted by Stefano Teani, young and virtuous conductor, as well as pianist and composer. This was enriched bu the beautiful voice of Francesca Maionchi, talented soprano that has literally stunned the audience with her charme and unicity.
The two young and talented composers, Salvatore Frega and Andrea Benedetti, were in the hall and, after the performance of tour pieces, joined the stage for the well-deserved clapping.
Debora Pioli introduced the show with ease and competence as usual. The concert, organized by the Burlamacchi Lodge nr. 1113 for the Oriente di Lucca and Barga of Grande Oriente d’Italia, not only gave to the city a cultural event that’s always appreciated, but also aimed to raise money for the Anfass onlus of Lucca, represented by the counselor Vania Nottoli. The orchestra was conducted by Stefano Teani.
This edition, after two years of forced break because of the pandemic, was dedicated to Giorgio Serafini, passed to the Eternal Orient in May 2021 and often summoned with emotion during the concert, he was one of the promoter of the event for the first time, 19 years ago.
Nottoli, while receiving the donation from the hands of the Worshipful Master of the Burlamacchi Lodge of Grande oriente d’Italia, Emanuele Costamagna, thanked for the kind act, saying that represents an important contribution for the Anfass to pursue the work of social assistance they always did.
At the end of the concert, the WM of the Francesco burlamacchi Lodge gave the Soprano Francesca Maionchi and to Maestro Stefano Teani a plate in memory of the event.
In the hall there were the counselor for Turism of the Comune di Lucca, Remo Santini and the honorary Grand Masters of the Grande Oriente d’Italia, Massimo Bianchi and Mauro Lastraioli.
