Stefano Teani conducts the “Maggio Fiorentino”
In the last few days took place in the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino a masterclass for young musicians aiming to work on their conducting skills. Among these the lucchese Stefano Teani (pictured), pianist, composer and technical director of Cluster association of contemporary music of Lucca, that has been chosen, at the end of last week after the course, to conduct the last concert where, together with the members of the Orchestra del “Maggio”, have been added some from the Orchestra Toscana Classica. «It is a huge thrill for me – told us a very happy Teani – to conduct such an important orchestra.
During all the week the renowned maestro Günter Neuhold – went on the young musician – made our gesture more essential and yet more expressive and comunicative, giving us suggestions for music and for life, far beyond just conducting. At the end – concluded Teani – I had to attend an extra rehearsal session with the orchestra to work with more freedom on the chosen piece Preludio del terzo atto da La Traviata, where I could give my artistic vision that was in tune with the one of the orchestra».
